Tripple Latte please!

Little Owen has so much fun making the nurses run in to check on him by setting off all of the alarms! He does what they call 'periodic breathing' - which many preemies (and even newborns) do. They pause breathing for just longer than what they should, and then take a deep breath or yawn to catch up. This makes ALL of the alarms beep. I really think he has fun with it - every time a nurse walks out the door, he makes something beep! Luckily they can track all of his stats from their cell phones (they monitor all of their babies real-time via their phones) so they always know when he's playing with them!

He did have a few bradys last night and today. As a result, they did decide to up his caffeine intake. Up until today, they have kept putting it off. He kept having 'good' days and made them think he didn't need anymore! They did another test yesterday to verify that his levels were 'good' and as a result increased his daily caffeine allotment starting today.

Rory and I joked that with his metabolism and my love of caffeine, it's no wonder they had to increase it!

In CAT scan results, well, there are none! The neurosurgeon at Children's still hasn't provided feedback to our doctors. Apparently he was stuck in surgery all day and didn't have time to review the charts. Our doctor did reassure us though that they all reviewed the scan and believed it showed less fluid than the ultrasound did, so they really thought it wasn't anything to worry about. So, hopefully we'll hear tomorrow to confirm!

I forgot to mention yesterday that one of the many nurses we had yesterday made our day! She told us that the hotel will DELIVER food to Owen's room for us! Yes, we have to pay for it but it's so much less expensive than going out to eat and though it's hospital patient food, the food almost tastes homemade! It was so relaxing staying in the room last night and eating what seemed like a home cooked meal! It was the closest thing we've had to a 'home cooked' dinner since Owen was born! Yum!

Finally - he finally did it! Owen managed to pee on me while I was changing his diaper today!!! Rory and I went through THREE diapers during his 5pm cares - he kept having more in store for us! Luckily he's still in his isolette, so the glass top kept me from getting sprayed!!!! Sneaky little guy!

Owen is 29 days old today!
