It's official! Our little guy is officially 3 pounds! Actually, he sailed right past 3 pounds and is at 3 pounds 1 ounce! I'm really proud of him that he has gained so much, especially since he was only on 2 calorie fortifier yesterday! They moved him up to 4 calorie fortifiers today and it seems like he's handling it much better than he did last week. He isn't squirming or looking uncomfortable like he was last week. No signs of reflux right now! Yea!
Three pounds is a milestone - it means he is that much closer to an open air crib! They still aren't giving us any idea of when that might happen...but we'll keep our fingers crossed it's soon!
Besides the impressive weight gain, all has been quiet on the home front. He's doing really well on his oxygen - they have had it set to room air for most of the day, and only kick it up a few notches after each meal. His belly gets so full he needs a little boost of oxygen after he eats.
Today he was so alert! Around 1pm, Rory started playing his guitar for Owen and he was so awake and alert - he was loving it! His little eyes were just huge and he kept looking back and forth from Rory and me. So sweet!
Well, my little guy's calling for me, so I'm going to go love on him! Bye!
Owen is 19 days old today!
