Coming Home Photos!!!!

At long last, here is a photo montage of our day bringing Owen home on Wednesday:

We love, love, love having Owen home. The first night was a tad rough with everyone adjusting to our new schedule (and Owen being out of a structured hospital environment for the first time), but ever since it has steadily gotten easier and easier. Rory and I have figured out a schedule that works well for us so both of us get a decent amount of uninterrupted sleep and Owen is eating well. In fact, the public health nurse stopped by today and he gained 3 ounces in 2 days (putting him at 7lb 3oz)!!! I was worried because he wasn't eating as much as he ate in the NICU - she told me to worry no more! He is doing really great sleeping too - at night (and during the day) we stick pretty much to the 3-hour schedule. We went to more of a on-demand schedule, but he really does well eating on a scheduled basis, so for all of our sanity we are trying to stick to that regime.

We're all so excited to have our first weekend together as a family at home. I'm sure I will have some fun pictures to post this weekend of our events. However, we are still being SUPER cautious about having friends and family over. In fact, no kids are allowed AT ALL for a few months. We are also not taking him into public places for a few months - especially indoors. A walk outside on a nice day is definitely OK, but no trips to the grocery store or going out to eat. So, I apologize to everyone that lives in the area. We do love you - we really do! We're just being super cautious about allowing visitors. Once we're up to it (and we think he is ready to be around the masses) we'll definitely let you know!

By the way, my mom graciously purchased a CD of the photos that were taken the day Owen left the hospital, with full reprinting rights. So, I will be posting a link to a Shutterfly account where you can purchase a photo for MUCH cheaper rates than what the company charges as soon as it comes in and we upload it. THANKS MOM!
