Clean Bill of Health!

YEAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I can't say it enough - we are SO HAPPY to report that Owen received a clean bill of health yesterday.

The test wasn't very much fun, but it was so funny. When we arrived at Childrens Hospital, two young nurses in the Radiology Dept called us back and Owen immediately turned on the 'charm'. Just in the past few weeks, any time he sees a cute girl he GRINS and flirts. It's hilarious. They were trying to explain the procedure and he kept smiling at them and they kept saying, "Oh, we don't want to do this to him - he's so cute!!!!" I think that was his strategy! They were wonderful with him though, and we got to stay in the room to comfort him.

The procedure was a VCUG - it was testing to see if there was reflux allowing urine to backflow from his bladder to kidneys (hence, the UTI a few weeks ago). He was very, very angry when they were doing the test, but I knew he was OK because he kept stopping screaming and crying and looking at me with a 'Mom-can't you stop this???' look. If he was really upset, he wouldn't have stopped to do that.

We then headed over to the specialist's office and he gave us the results - clean bill of health! They saw zero reflux happening and think the UTI was just a fluke. So, we are off antibiotics for good (hopefully) and don't go back until January, when we will do a follow-up ultrasound to see if his kidney dilation has resolved. Happily, the doctor isn't concerned with that at all and thinks he will definitely grow out of it. So that means Owen is 100% healthy! YEA!!!!!! We are so happy!

When we were checking in, they also weighed him. He weighed in at 14lb 15oz! That's just a few short of 15lb! We cannot believe he is getting so big. Time is flying!
