A day at the Park

We had a great weekend. Saturday was a gorgeous day - mid 70's and sunny. So we took advantage and spent the entire afternoon outdoors. Owen did so well. OK, so he slept almost the entire time, but it was a blast walking around downtown Issaquah and sitting in the park for a few hours with him.

Owen was visited by his physical therapists on Thursday. They monitored a lot of different areas of his development, including fine and gross motor, social, verbal, and eating skills. They rated him against others his gestational age (which is 3 weeks old) and he passed with flying colors! The only area they are semi-concerned about is his eating, so they are going to come back soon to actually watch him eat and see how he does.

We have been struggling the past couple of weeks with reflux and colic. Owen has his 'witching hours' from 6pm - 9pm each night. We also started him on two different medications to help stop the cause of, and reduce the symptoms of, reflux. We are definitely seeing an improvement, but are still hoping it will kick in a bit more soon and we'll see more relief.

Finally, the nurse stopped by again this week. Owen has maintained his great weight gain of an ounce a day since we came home! This put him at 9lb 6oz on Tuesday - which means he's almost 10lb right now! Yea!!!
